Sweets

Did anyone think I was blogging about him? He's just a different type of Sweets.

Honestly, on some days, no matter who it is, I would still choose cupcakes.

Some Royal Kidding

What up with eyebrow guy?
Is he looking at the priest? Thinking to himself 'I never
would've worn that dress'.  Maybe he just remembered
he forgot to put on deodorant.
Give the little one a cookie and a cartoon.
Maybe one of those punch bag thingys?
Mine was a freaky clown, but that was before IT by Stephen King
so I didn't know any better.  If I was little, I'd get this one instead:

What exactly is going on underneath here?
Is there a petticoat? A hoopskirt?

I love the Queen's yellow coat and hat.  It's lovely.
You may see me in that outfit next Easter Sunday.

Well it says if you get a dog and you have to walk it, that you get more exercise.

Getting a dog.
Like a small one.

My sister Jana is really good at giving advice.  She's really tactful too.

PS I'm not getting a dog.

It was too small.
I’m against getting a dog now.
It would wake me up in the middle of the night.

Forty-One

Sandy & Ritchee sitting in a tree...
for 41 years without going completely crazy
(they are about half way there)

I met my old lover
On the street last night
She seemed so glad to see me
I just smiled
And we talked about some old times
And we drank ourselves some [root] beers
Still crazy afler all these years
Oh, still crazy after all these years

New Daydreams

I woke up in London.
And then found myself in Paris.
I kept having to remember where I was,
that it wasn't just a beautiful dream.
All the talked about places
and fascinating people
were real.

"And 'her' heart was moved
as the trees of the wood
are moved with the wind."

Battle Field of the Mind

When we are overly concerned
with what people think
we will be controlled
by the thoughts and opinions
of other people.
~Joyce Meyer

I love the story "You are Special".  The most powerful person in the entire universe will help us become who we want to be, but we have to focus on Him and nothing else.  He never lets us down.

Spiritual inspiration here:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You might say, “I’m not the creative type. When I sing, I’m always half a tone above or below the note. I cannot draw a line without a ruler. And the only practical use for my homemade bread is as a paperweight or as a doorstop.” {marla's edit - When I Zumba, I look like a spastic Muppet}
If that is how you feel, think again, and remember that you are spirit daughters of the most creative Being in the universe. Isn’t it remarkable to think that your very spirits are fashioned by an endlessly creative and eternally compassionate God? Think about it—your spirit body is a masterpiece, created with a beauty, function, and capacity beyond imagination.
Uh-Oh - What your collection says about you...
"Toys, Dolls, or Figurines
I have found that when an adult collect toys of any kind, there is usually a wounded and unhealed aspect of her inner child. In fact, collecting toys is often a very healthy instinct, as it's a way of giving presents to one's inner child in order to help her feel loved. Still, it's important to acknowledge what's going on so that we can take more mature, concrete steps toward healing the issue."
To take more mature, concrete steps, I am going to buy MORE Muppets and decorate the guest room.
PS My childhood was amazing!  Bazinga!
Buh Buh Buh BENSON
Meet my newest, freshest, squishy-esque
nephew from heaven:
Benson Lee Allen
Word to the wise, do not dress this kid up in crap like this:
Because he will never forgive you.
And with a face like the one below,
you don't wanna do that.
Congrats Em, Dan & Eva!
PS: It's not just the Mama in labor
who goes a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs,
it's the Dad too!
A Taste of Heaven
How does this sound:
Fresh, hot crepes, with creme brulet icecream (ben & jerry's, don't knock it til you try it), caramel sauce, a few slices of banana and a tablespoon or so of Nutella.  Later I decided that next time I made them, I would add candied walnuts.
** PS Maybe you are wondering, what the heck a Blencer is... Food Network didn't make a typo like I thought,  it's just a fancy blender.  I'm sure it costs a million dollars, as well as the crepe pan I saw advertised on the side bar (that was like two million).  I assure you, my 30 dollar blender and my 10 dollar pan worked just as well.
"The only real stumbling block
is fear of failure.
In cooking
you've got to have
a what-the-hell attitude."
Gratitude Blog
I get emails, almost daily, from this guy and I often find myself saving many of the quotes because they ring so true.  I love the gift of gratitude. It makes us better people when we remember our blessings and it has the power to change our view of the world.
Recently, I discovered a book called 365 Days of Thank Yous. I know the power of a letter written because of a whisper from the Spirit.  My mom taught me, early in my life, to write notes of gratitude. It turned me into a writer and a lover of books.  And I thank her for it.  It has made my life rich.
Slip Sliding Away
Can you guess whose skates these are?
My pretty sister and my COOL (too cool for photos) nephew.
Marla's outfit is sponsored by Target and SpongeBob.
Reva is a fun Mom.
Jake watching the big kids play hockey.
Don't get any ideas man.
The peanuts.
What a fun, spontaneous day.  Reva took us to the community center for open skate.  I loved how the ice felt beneath my feet.  I wondered who came up with this idea.  Thanks to Google, I didn't have to wonder very long.
And check it out - MN is famous yet again:
"In 1914, John E. Strauss, a blade maker from St. Paul, Minnesota, invented the first closed toe blade made from one piece of steel, making skates lighter and stronger."
Way to go Mr. Strauss!
Happy Conference weekend!
I love hearing from Prophets & Apostles.  There is a flood of revelation, a reminder of what's truly important and almost a palpable surge of the Spirit.  This video below is something we showed people on my mission.  It's from a BYU conference from many, many years ago.  Every time I watch it, it touches my heart.
In preparation for conference, I make a list of questions and concerns of things I would like answered.  Every time I do that, I get those answers.
Maybe when you watch this video, you can feel the love that the Lord has for you and then listen for what He wants you to do next.
Excuse me while I go to work in my Underwear.
On the radio this morning, I was listening to Jimmy Kimmell's idea of a April Fools day prank.
He said that when his kids were little he came downstairs all "ready" to take them to school but he left off his pants.  Come on guys, let's go! he said.  And the kids said, Daaaaaadddd!! You can't go without your pants!
And of course he said, I have pants on! Let's go!
The kids giggled and were easily entertained, like kids always are.
Try it. Let me know how it goes.  It *might* not be as funny with adults.  But you never know.
Happy April Fools!
PS I wish I could get this in my size.
