Marla's Top 10 Reasons to Visit Utah: Photo Tour

In no particular order of course:

Cafe Rio with lovely friends.
Seeing Eva crawl like a mad woman.
The Sweet Tooth Fairy - best cupcakes ever.
Yoda one for me.
Dressing up Eva in ridiculous clothing.
Playing peek-a-boo.
Crazy walk in Daybreak on a cold winter day.
Temples, temples and more temples.
Shade clothing - one word:  SALE.  Came out with a big 'ol bag.
In N Out.  Finally got my burger!  PS The animal style fries were Dan's.

What  a lovely trip.  Can't wait to do it all over again soon.

Heart. Ache.

“A babe in the house is a well-spring of pleasure,
a messenger of peace and love,
a resting place for innocence on earth,
a link between angels and men.”

Are you a real Minnesotan?

Excerpt from The Scott County Scene newspaper:

As Minnesota opened up to white settlement, it was "pitched" to eager pinoneers in various ways.  Some writers tried to counter rumors of a harsh environment; others proclaimed the vigor and "robustness" gained from the cold, dry climate.  Written in 1853, Wesley Bond strongly put forward the case for a stalwart northern temperment amoung the settlers:  "To begin with, if you are of that incorrigible class of persons who have taken it into their brains that no part of this great globe is habitable, by reason of the cold, to a degree of latitude than about forty degrees north, we have no use for you.".

Ha ha ha ha ha.  This is not a joke.  This is a real quote and I think I really like this dude.  He's hilarious.

You tell 'em Wesley Bond, you tell 'em!  Minnesota ain't no place for wimps.

Happy Valentine's Day

Share the love on Valentine's day, even if it appears unwanted.

I'm with the bomb squad. If you see me running, try to keep up.

Valentine's 5k race pictures!  Perfect running conditions.  Except for all the people, shuffling along like cattle, causing us to wait at least five minutes before crossing the starting line.  And the fact that I dropped everything from my gloves (at least three times) to my ribbon and finally my car keys.  Special thanks to the ladies behind me who picked them up and I apologize for telling complete strangers that I love them.

Love birds.  Who almost missed the race.

My New Favorite Bakery

I'm going there on Saturday.  Best heart shaped pink frosted valentine's cookies in Minnesota.

How did I find this place?  My favorite 5K has only a few boxes for after the race.  They go like hot cakes.  Last year I got in trouble for taking 2 instead of 1. I thought I was being sneaky but alas, I was caught pink handed.  So this year, I did some sleuthing to find out where they got the cookies.  Bada-bing!

I only ordered 3 dozen.  But never fear, I will share (two for me, one for you).

P.S.  When I decided I've had enough cookies and need perfection in a piece of fruit, I will eat these delicious pears while thinking about how much I love my Portland friends.

Totally LOST.

So far, my favorite article on the premiere can be found here.

I love how creative people are, with all their ideas -  full of twists and turns -
somehow coming all together into one big mess of a super awesome TV show
for the world to figure out.

Losties, Unite!

Impeccable Taste

I got this sweatshirt for Zayah at Target.  They now carry Paul Frank clothing for kids.  Isn't he handsome.

Bitten by a Groundhog

No, it didn't thappen to me silly, it happened to Bill Murray during the filming of Groundhog Day.   Check out other trivia items here.

Seriously, sometime in my life I WILL make it to the celebration in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to be there in person for the big event.

Have yourself a very fine Groundhog's day!

Guess who Starkey's newest sponsor is?

My most recent download on iTunes may have been Crush.  What I love about this kid is that he's not trying to be grown up or attempting to sing songs that are beyond his years.  No sir, he's embracing his current stage of life - the naive & sweet & awkward 17 traumarama stage where you think everything is a Big Deal and you call your dad a "murderer of love" when he makes your boyfriend go home in taxi after he sneaks up to be with you at the family cabin.

So go ahead, download his video Crush and let it make you smile like a little school girl.  Because life, my friends, is too darn short to skip the cheese so jump on in.
