Vote for SugarPlum

Emiline's site is one of my very favorite cooking blogs. Boy can this chick cook and Bonus! she's hilarious, random and keepin it real in her writing.

This is the recipe that could win her a trip to NYC. When she wins, you can say I helped make her famous and she will say, BOOYAH and the universe will thank you.

**Vote here pretty please with SugarPlum on top.**

The winning recipe:

Doughnuts with Peanut Butter Glaze
Emily H., Ozark, MO

1 1/2 C. flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp salt
1 C. quick Quaker oats
1 C. mashed banana
1 C. brown sugar
2 eggs
6 T butter, divided
2 tsp vanilla, divided
4 C. vegetable oil
1/2 C. peanut butter
1 1/2 C. confectioners' sugar
1/2 C. milk

In medium bowl, sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger and salt; whisk in oats. In large bowl, whisk banana, brown sugar, eggs, 3 T melted butter and 1 tsp vanilla until combined; whisk in dry ingredients until combined. Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat until hot. Using two teaspoons, drop teaspoons of dough into oil, about 8 at a time. Fry for 1 minute or until golden brown. Transfer doughnuts to paper towels to drain. Melt the additional 3 T butter in medium saucepan over medium-low heat; whisk in peanut butter, confectioners' sugar, milk, and additional 1 tsp vanilla and continue to heat and whisk for 1-2 minutes or until combined and smooth. Dip doughnuts into glaze to coat completely.

I'm so trying these this weekend! Good luck Emiline!

  3. So...are they worth the effort to make????? 'Cause I'll make them if they are.

  4. mom, don't worry about dad finding out, he doesn't read my blog. only when megan tells him about my blog does he check in so he can form his rebuttle.
emiline - i hope you win!
jessica - yes, make them. yummy. not something you could eat every day (ugh the oil! leaked out of the container) but so yummy. it was my first time cooking with oil. next time i will wait til it's really hot instead of just a little. less oil goes into the batter. :)
